Coquitlam is a British Columbian town that was made a city in 1992. The city is located to the north of Fraser River and found between Burnaby and the western side of New Westminster.

Coquitlam city is an ancient British town. The city’s earliest residents were the Kwikwetlem of Coast Salish. The term ‘Coquitlam’ is borrowed from a local Kwikwetlem name which means a small red salmon. It’s the name of a salmon which swa, up the Coquitlam River to spawn in the Coquitlam Lake.
Fraser Mills is one of the ancient and major industries in Coquitlam city. The industry was set up in 1889. In 1891, Coquitlam was assimilated as a district municipality. It was separated politically from Fraser Mills and Port Coquitlam; they then formed distinct communities
